The Department of Malayalam in association with the Department of Media Studies of St. George’s College, Aruvithura collaborated with the Kerala State Chalachitra Academy to organise a three day national webinar on Film Studies titled “ The Genetics of Cinema: Art, Culture, Technology” on 2020 September 7, 8, 9. The resource persons include National and State Award winning film critics like Dr. C.S. Venkiteswaran, (Prof.) Dr. P.S. Radhakrishnan, Dr. Jose K. Manuel, Mr. Blais Johny and International award winning film technicians like Mahesh Narayanan and Dr. Shemin B. Nair. The Department of Malayalam organised the inaugural lecture of the 'Thaliru' online lecture series on 17 August 2020.
