St. George's College, Aruvithura, has a poly house on campus, which is used for cultivating a variety of plants that require specialized growing conditions. The poly house is a structure that is covered in a transparent material, allowing sunlight to enter while protecting the plants from pests, extreme temperatures, and adverse weather conditions. The controlled environment of the poly house makes it possible to grow plants throughout the year, regardless of seasonal changes. We grow a variety of plants in our poly house, including ornamental plants, vegetable crops, and medicinal herbs. Our poly house also serves as an educational resource for our students, who can learn about sustainable agriculture practices and the benefits of controlled environment farming.
