Module 1. Introduction to Entrepreneurship ( 6 hours)
Meaning, Characteristics, Role and Importance, Innovation, Functions of Entrepreneur,
Entrepreneurial Traits, Motivation of Entrepreneur, Types of Entrepreneurs, IT and Startup
Opportunities, E-Business.
Module 2. Supports for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (8 hours)
Micro Small Medium Enterprises ,Green channel clearance, Bridge capital, Seed Capital
Assistance, Business incubators, SEZ , Industrial Estates, EDII, NIESBUD, NSIC, SIDBI, DIC,
Kerala Startup Mission, Institutional Innovational Council.
Module 3. Entrepreneurial Opportunity and Planning ( 8 hours)
Market analysis, Project identification, SWOT analysis, Opportunity cost, Investment appraisal
techniques; Pay Back Period, Net Present Value, Sources of finance.
Module 4. Legal Aspects in Entrepreneurship (7 hours)
Protection of business idea, Trade mark, Copy right, Patents, Registration of firm, Procedures in
registration, Types of firms, Sole trading, Partnership, LLP, Joint stock company, Co- operatives.
Module 5 Project implementation and review (6 hours)
Project life cycle, Sales promotional strategies, Advertising, Personal selling, Direct marketing,
Project review techniques; Critical path method, PERT.
