The Department of Botany traces its origin to 1965, coinciding with the establishment of the college, when it functioned as part of the Department of Biology. The department has consistently maintained well-equipped laboratories and necessary infrastructure to support effective teaching and practical training. At present, the department offers a B.Sc. Degree Programme in Botany, designed to impart a strong foundation in both theoretical and applied aspects of the discipline.
